Canon Xl2 Firewire Problems Canon XL2 Mini DV Digital Camcorder Video To Computer?

Canon XL2 Mini DV Digital Camcorder Video to Computer? - canon xl2 firewire problems

How do I transfer data (video) I took on mini-DV tape on my laptop, which can be processed? FireWire? I do not think the camera is needed with a USB extension.

All minDV tape camcorders use Firewire for video-to-computer.

All miniDV tape camcorders have a 4-pin DV port. If the other side of the cable, 4-pin, 6-pin or 9-pin FireWire port depends on the computer.

If your computer has a FireWire port be available PCI (desktop / tower, PCMCIA or ExpressCard for laptops - if there even a port). Since only told us that your computer is a laptop - any make or model, but not much more we can do to help.

If you read the manual, you will not find a USB port on the XL2 - so there will be no "extensions" or pilots receive.

See page 101 for connection to the computer via a cable), DV (IEEE1394.

In this context, DV, Firewire, IEEE1394 i.LINK and all the same - no USB. The XL2 has a USB port does not work. FireWire USB Cables / Converters / Adapters / center of things not working properly.
